PSJ Group provides chartering services of tugboats and barges to transport dry bulk freight, mainly thermal coal, sand and other quarry materials. Our freight charters vessels have typically involved domestic routes in Indonesia from Kalimantan to various ports in Java and Sulawesi, whilst our time charter vessels have served international routes in Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Philippine, Thailand, even as far as middle east.
Our history started in 1999 when our founder, Mr Masdjan, identified the potential growth of barge chartering business in Indonesia. Mr Masdjan started with only 1 set of Tugboat & Barge, and committed to focus on the marine transportation of dry bulk freight in Indonesian waters.
In March 2002, a shipping company PT. Pulau Seroja Jaya (PT. PSJ) was established initially with 2 sets of Tugboats & Barges. In order to support the robust growth of the company, in March 2006 a sister company, namely PT PSJP was also established by our founder.
Over the years, we have expanded our fleet through the acquisition of tugboats and barges with greater capacity and tailored for specific purposes. In 2008, Seroja Investment Ltd, a listed company in the SGX, invested into the company to provide sufficent financing and business support to accommodate the rising demand for the coal transportation business.
To date, PSJ Group own 69 vessels, comprising a fleet of 36 tugboats and 33 barges, all of them are flying Indonesian Flag Nationalities. The Propulsion Engine of our tugboats is ranging from 2X 800 HP up to 2X2000 HP, whilst the size of the barges is ranging from 300 ft to 380 ft length.
To serve the public interest, as well as the needs of our clients, all of our vessels are Class maintained in accordance with their respective rules and regulations. The vessels are registered under a member of the International Association of Classification Societies and/or PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI).
